I know that Danny would never use Bill Lawerence pick ups. Joe Barden only. I don't know why the custom shop has changed that detail. (it's wrong, Danny wouldn't have it).
As far as alka seltzer or vacuum tubes for a slide, I saw Danny play a lot and beer bottles are what he used for slide. Well, he would use anything sometimes just for show.
I saw him hundreds of times (no alka seltzer or vacuum tubes ever). just about everything else though.
The early dg tele is the real thing. I don't know what fender is thinking, but the new ones ain't it!
Sure miss hearing Danny. growing up in the DC area was a ball!!
