Epiphone Emperor Regent!

Epiphone Emperor Regent

Best Jazz Guitar For Sale!

There may be no better jumbo jazz box than the Epiphone Emperor Regent. And since it comes with an affordable Epiphone price tag, it’s all the more appealing.

Gentle mellowness combined with plenty of projection means this could be the electric guitar you’ve been search for.

With big jazz tone and stunning looks to match its genre, the Epiphone Emperor Regent has a warm, grand sound that your audiences will love as much as you do.

Powered by floating OBL mini-humbuckers, Epiphone's Emperor Regent has a select spruce top and a rosewood fingerboard with block and triangle abalone inlays. The headstock features a tree of life inlay.

The floating bridge is rosewood, too, and this model features the split-trapeze Frequensator tailpiece.

Other features include a laminate maple body and a three-piece maple neck. There’s body, neck and head binding too.

The hardware -- as you might expect -- is gold.

Volume and tone control knobs are on the tortoiseshell pickguard. Depending on your style of attack, this could be a problem. If you find your hands on the pickguard frequently, this model may not be the best choice for you.

Reviews for this model, however, are overwhelmingly positive. We’re especially fond of this model’s upgraded look. It looks like a quality guitar without going overboard and into gaudy or ostentatious territory.

You may find this model’s rich, warm sound brighter than you expect. For jazz, darker tones are probably more common, but this model leans more toward light than dark. We like the sound, though, and suspect you will too.

While some reviewers have pointed out minor flaws, we didn’t find them on the models we reviewed.

More than one player has mentioned that the fingerboard inlays are slightly recessed, but we didn’t notice.

We’ve also heard reports that the finish is thinner than expected and easily scratched, but this could be a flaw with only a few instruments rather than all Emperor Regent models, so we’re discounting that claim too.

Go ahead and try this model alongside the best jazz electric you have from Gibson or another premium maker -- if you can afford one of those high-priced big-name guitars -- and we think you’ll find this model stands up very well.

The Epiphone Emperor Regent has a grand sound that’s a lot richer than a player has to be to afford it. An economical choice for players who want to get all they can afford without draining their accounts, this model won’t disappoint you.
