Epiphone ES175

Epiphone Acoustic Electric Guitar!

Epiphone ES175

The Epiphone ES175 is no bargain instrument -- in terms of quality, that is.

The price? Sure, that’s a bargain, especially for such a nice guitar.

Epiphone has a deservedly good reputation for making guitars affordable for even the most budget-strapped players, but Epiphone's ES175 is a unique hybrid of value and quality.

It comes at a great low price -- as you’d expected from Epiphone -- but it’s also a high-quality, gig-worthy guitar.

Here’s the backstory: In 1949, Epiphone’s big brother Gibson introduced the ES-175.

It was essentially an electric guitar so it didn’t need to be as thick as acoustic archtop models of the day, but it was completely hollow inside.

That gave it the resonance of an archtop -- with the quality electronics inside that people were already coming to expect from Gibson.

In fact, it was one of the first models to use humbuckers instead of single-coil pickups.

Its amazing plugged or unplugged sound gave it something many guitars of its day didn’t have: versatility.

No wonder it was one of the most popular guitar models of its day.

Today Epiphone's ES175 carries on the tradition of this instrument.

A carefully applied sunburst finish and split parallelogram inlays on the rosewood fretboard contribute to the authentic look. So does the chrome hardware.

Alnico Classic humbuckers do the job now.

Other features include a rosewood bridge base, golden top-hat knobs and a deco trapeze tailpiece.

The top, back and sides are all maple, and the set neck is mahogany.

It’s fully bound, including the fretboard.

You can play just about any kind of music on this guitar, but the blues sound particularly good on it.

The quality of the finish and components may also surprise you. We surveyed a number of buyers, and they report that this instrument comes with a better-than-expected finish.

While cosmetic defects are common with Asian-made guitars, they’re just not there on this model.

And unlike some other budget-line guitars, this isn’t just a rehearsal or starter guitar. This is something that even the most experienced players would be proud to take out on gigs.

So which are you -- a true beginner or a seasoned veteran? Something in-between maybe?

Whatever the case, the versatile Epiphone ES175 brings back a classic and versatile Gibson model and makes it accessible to everyone.

We make it pretty easy to get too. Just click now and you’re off on a new musical journey with a vintage-inspired guitar you’ll love.
