Fender Ultimate Chorus Amp

Leo Fender began producing electric amplifiers in the early 1940’s.

He started by repairing tube amps and gathered a great understanding of how they worked and what could be improved.

During this time he also made PA systems on the side for money.

In 1945 he would partner up with Doc Kauffman, another electronic instrument enthusiast, to form the K and F manufacturing company.

First used in 1948, Fender would start the tweed amplifier rush.

This style is still sought after by many musicians today.

Not only is the tweed amplifier a statement of style, true tweed amplifiers are often tube amps – producing a much fatter, deeper thicker tone.

Leo would continue to grow the company until 1964 when he sold it to CBS for 13 million.

The company would continue to expand and currently produces solid state amps in their Ensenada Mexico factory, and their tube amps in Corona CA.
