Fender Ultimate Chorus Amp Review!

Fender Ultimate Chorus Amp

Reasonably priced and occasionally available used on eBay, the Fender Ultimate Chorus amp is a great choice for clean, clear sound in fairly low to moderate stress situations.

But metal rockers: Leave this one alone.

Check around on eBay and other local and Internet classified listings and you’ll find plenty of Ultimate Chorus amps still available used -- and still band-ready in some cases.

Chorus and reverb effects are built right into this amp, making it something special from the start.

And when you use the chorus effect, you don’t get a washed-out or thin sound like you do with some amps.

It’s a simple amplifier with some built-in effects that actually work pretty well.

While this amplifier has enough headroom for most Telecaster and Stratocaster players -- for most players with any kind of electric guitar, actually -- punk and metal rockers may be able to make this one crack.

It’s not the right choice for the heavier stuff.

This solid-state amp features two 12-inch Fender speakers.

Basic volume, mid and bass controls join a reverb setting in the normal channel, while tone is also controllable in the drive channel.

Distortion circuitry is included, but most reviewers don’t give the distortion control much respect.

It works, but you might be better off adding in this effect another way.

Its 65-watt output is impressive rather than wimpy and makes it plenty strong enough to front a band.

Still, lots of guitarists find this amp better suited for general daily rehearsal use and for lugging to garage-band jam sessions.

It’s a stage worthy amp that’s finding its way onto fewer and fewer stages as it ages.

Researching the Fender Ultimate Chorus turns up a few words again and again: clean, clear, solid, and dependable.

When you’re looking for a piece of equipment to run the electric guitar that runs your band -- either in rehearsals or on stage -- those are very good words to hear.

It’s a little workhorse of an amplifier with a clearer sound than you might expect from such a reasonably priced model. It’s easy to get one used for a couple hundred dollars or a bit more.

You might as well try one of these and get a clear sound from a solid and reliable amplifier that will serve you well for years -- and for some players, decades.

What more can you ask of the Fender Ultimate Chorus amp? It does its job well.
