Left Handed Gibson SG!
Left-handed guitar players pepper the rock world, and several will proudly tell you that lefties are more creative and talented than righties.
This may be true, as the right brain (which controls the left side of the body…yea, I know), is the side that controls the more imaginative aspects of thinking.
The left side controls logical thinking.
The logic of most lefties, therefore, is that obviously the right side of their brain is dominant, giving them an artistic advantage.
This logic makes sense, and really makes you think when you imagine some famous lefties like Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix.
Most of the left-handed musicians out there prefer a . Gibson has perfected the leftie guitar; their technique is better than most.
These aren’t just modified regular guitars; they are made from scratch especially for left-handed players.
The strings are strung correctly, the bridge is different, and the cutaways are on the other side…everything is made just right.
That doesn’t stop some stubborn players, like the two I mentioned earlier, from using a regular guitar flipped over and played backwards.
Cobain and Hendrix made it look easy to just flip a guitar around and go to town, but it isn’t so.
Learning to play everything backwards takes talent, not to mention the extra dexterity required to reach the upper frets when the cutaway placement doesn’t help you.
Therefore most left-handed guitarists (who aren’t determined to be rebellious and stubborn) choose an actual left-handed Gibson SG because they’re much more comfortable to play.
One of the great things about the lefty line of guitars put out by Gibson is that you can buy a true left-handed version of almost every major model they sell.
You aren’t just stuck with one or two choices…if there is a Gibson model you love; there is likely a leftie of it, too.
The left-handed Gibson SG is the most sold of any left-handed guitars.
