My Gibson Silverburst Review

This is a pretty sweet guitar with an awesome finish, however you must be very careful when shopping for one.

Not all silverbursts are the same as many websites might lead you to believe.

I had mine built by Gibson under contract a few years back with ceramic pick ups, ebony fingerboard and no pick guard.

I was in love with the finish but I could not stand the pick guard or the rosewood fret board.

I played two in guitar center, one that felt like a Mexican version of a super soaker @ $1,400 and the $2,400 solid top model which was much better, but still wasn't exactly what I wanted.

So plan to drop 3k if you want a really top of the line one.

Generally I'd agree that with guitars you get what you pay for, but with Gibson plan on spending more for the name.

They also make an Epiphone version which sells for less, and is probably very comparable to the manufactured lower-end Gibson product line.
