Taylor 110

Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar!

Taylor 110

Dubbed as having ‘a rich and versatile voice’, the Taylor 110 appears to be the perfect option for musicians on a budget or as an extra guitar for the seasoned player.

This offering from Taylor Guitars was designed to ‘raise the bar’ on their basic guitars creating an instrument that is essentially affordable to a wider audience.

In fact, officials from guitar manufacturers said: “Describing tone is like trying to explain what vanilla ice cream tastes like.

We describe it in relation to something else, or by using subjective terms.

Yet, words fail to describe what the ear never fails to hear.

While most players would agree with our descriptions, let your own ears be the judge.”

But some critics are less likely to agree, describing the unplugged sound as flat and boxy and the instrument overall as ‘mediocre’.

The dreadnought-style body and integrated pickup has even been described as a ‘no frills’ model.

Others, however, describe the tone as having a ‘wonderful sound quality’, easy action and a great feel.

The fact that the battery is easy to get to is also a plus.

The all-new 100 and 200 Series, which are dubbed as ‘premium guitars’ on the Taylor Guitars website, feature solid Sitka spruce tops and either laminated sapele or Indian rosewood back and sides giving the instruments a classic feel.

The Taylor empire now employs hundreds of people and boasts an impressive list of celebrity followers.

Taylor is a far cry from the firm’s humble beginnings when Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug spent their days fixing guitars in a shop with a leaky roof that ‘looked like a pig sty’.

Little did they know that more than 30 years later, the firm would boast many celebrity followers, none of whom have been paid for their promotion, and it would be dubbed as one of the most successful acoustic guitar manufacturers in the world.

They have an impressive following including music legends, Neil Young, Bryan Adams and Prince, along with a number of celebrity ‘civilian’ players such as author Stephen King, and actors, Brad Pitt and Minnie Driver.
